My favorite part of the end of a year- looking back over it and picking out the parts (good and bad) that defined this year.
1) What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
Hiked to the top of Half Dome
Hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and out again
2) Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
2010 resolutions were: keep not smoking, exercise 4x a week, absolutely NO texting, checking facebook, emailing while driving, and ALWAYS wearing a seat belt while driving
I did about a B- on these. I can always do better.
For 2011 much of the same, but a few more (personal) ones as well.
3) Did anyone close to you give birth?
I have a ridiculously large amount of acquaintances that gave birth this year, but nobody really close.
4) Did anyone close to you die?
my dog.
5) What countries did you visit?
California (that counts right?)
6) What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Some relationship/martial differences worked out and again- a house.
7) What date(s) from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
7/14- the day I hiked 16+ miles in Yosemite Nat'l park
8/19- the day my pooch dies
9/5-The day I hiked up from the bottom of the Grand Canyon
10/11- 2nd anniversary
8) What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I found physical strength and endurance I never knew I had- on several occasions.
9) Did you suffer illness or injury?
I have been sore just about everyday since July- does that count? I was diagnosed with vertigo in April and it has been easing up as of late (knock on wood).
10) What was the best thing you bought?
A month membership for a workout class- that has kicked my tail for the last month. I'll be continuing that in the new year!
11) Whose behavior merited celebration?
D$ worked hard and or a new job within his company- that certainly was cause for celebration.
12) Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My own. Various friends.
13) Where did most of your money go?
Traveling, wine and food
14) What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My trips, my hiking accomplishments, D$'s new job, the best Chardonnay ever.
15) What song will always remind you of 2010?
Unfortunately "Hey Soul Sister" - I hate that song. and "Little Lion Man" by Mumford and Sons
16) Compared to this time last year, are you:
Wiser? In some areas.
Healthier? Yes.
Richer? Actually, yes. In spirit and coin.
17) What do you wish you’d done more of?
reading, baking, knitting, being a better wife and bettering myself.
18) What do you wish you’d done less of?
Smoking, drinking, fighting, berating, resenting
19) How did you spend Christmas?
With D$'s family in the desert.

Yes.

The one I didn't post.

Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Grey's
23) Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
At times, yes.

I'm reading "Freedom" right now and I'm pretty sure it'll be the winner.

The Editors

Travel time

"Between the Folds" a documentary about origami.
29) What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 33 on my birthday and D$, Jenn and Todd took me out for Mexican and then for a fun night bowling.

Anybody but Palin
31) How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Subtle
32) What kept you sane?
routines and solitary time and my almost daily emails to a friend.
33) Who did you miss?
I miss everyday I don't spend with my mom, which is most of them.
34) Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010.
Resentment doesn't do any good.
35) What did you gain this year?
about 5 pounds.
36) What did you lose this year?
Respect for lots of people including myself and my husband. A friendship.
37) Who were the most interesting new people you met?
The women and men who participate in the running group I coach. Also, some people I already knew- just learning new things about them.
